William J. “Billy Joe” Little, 84, of Eminence, formerly of Mexico, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at West Vue Healthcare in West Plains.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, at Arnold Funeral Home with Kevin Wilkerson.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.   Visitation is Saturday from 12 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Billy Joe was born on January 13, 1939, in Hannibal, the son of Clement Oscar and Hulda Lorena (Greeves) Little. On September 17, 1960, in Mexico, he married Alice Adela Eikel. She passed away on May 16, 2014.

Mr. Little graduated in 1958 from Mexico High School. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He had worked at A.P. Green and Kaiser Refractories until going to Audrain Medical Center, where he retired after 27 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Lions Club. He really enjoyed woodworking and had his own cabinet shop.

Bill loved music and dancing. He and Alice would go out many weekends dancing around the area. He also loved being on the water and swimming and being around others, especially kids.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim (Darryl) Cole; one brother, J.W. Toalson; six grandchildren, Jessie VanBunnen, Jaden Little, Evan Little, Betty (Jeff) Trower, Darryl TL (Holly) Cole and Micheal Cole; nine great-grandchildren, Easton Little, Brinleigh Little, Evangeline VanBunnen, Elizabeth Trower, Colin Trower, Maycee Cole, Trevor Cole, Huntress Cole and Leon Clauer; three aunts, Theresa Teague, Ann Kunce and Sue Roberts; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a lady friend, Betty Pursifull of Martinsburg and her family.

Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Little; infant daughter, Pamela Little; son, Curtis Little; two brothers, Eugene Little and Russell Toalson; and 18 aunts and 23 uncles.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mexico Elks Lodge Scholarship Program.
