The Mexico Optimist Summer League began its youth softball and baseball leagues in late May and had a full slate of games going on last week. On June 14, there were five games scheduled that pitted area teams from Mexico and the surrounding area against each other, including Mexico versus Centralia and New Bloomfield and even Mexico versus Mexico.
