Four injured in Highway 54 crash

Four Audrain County residents suffered injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, April 6 on Highway 54 at Central Metals, Audrain County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the westbound 2008 Pontiac G8 was stopping for other vehicles turning.

The westbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Tiffany M. Martin, 19, of Rush Hill, struck the Pontiac in the rear, pushing the vehicle into the path of the eastbound 2018 Peterbilt, driven by Joshua M. Bailey, 40, of Carrollton, Ill.
Two Laddonia juveniles, an eight-year-old and 10-year-old, sustained minor injuries and were transported to University Hospital by Audrain EMS. Martin sustained moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital by Audrain EMS, as was Meghan M. Knipfel, 29, of Laddonia.

All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
All three vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
